First Time Mums over Thirty!

Congratulations, being a parent is the most difficult job in the world, but also the most rewarding (at times!).

Are there any mums out there like me? I had my first baby at 33 years of age and my second at 38 years of age. Life is so different for us now, but I would not swap it for anything. My time disappears so fast now that I am a stay at home mum to 2 daughters.

The stigma of being a mum over 30 is being erased by all the mums over 30 out there. People say there are some advantages to waiting to have children, including using life experiences and applying them to raising children. You can also be more financially stable at older parents.

The question to ask yourself is :

“is there a right time to have a baby?”

The “Right” time for some women to have a baby may be in their twenties. I agree that physically this is a good time to start a family. You seem to have more energy in your twenties. However more and more women are choosing to start a family later in life. Apart from the physical factors, older women often feel more settled and financially secure .

At the end of the day, the choice is yours. We choose to start a family when the time is right, not what the experts say.
